Hi! Libby and Marcel here!

What an amazing trip it’s been so far. From the Sunshine Coast all the way up to Cooktown! And where are we now? Darwin! In the last 1.5 months, we’ve driven over 4,000 km, and had an abundance of great conversations with locals, work and travel folks, and grey nomads (retirees who head north to escape the southern winter).

We also met a young Australian cyclist riding 20,000 km to raise awareness for mental health, a Japanese traveler walking from Cairns to Melbourne, and another Japanese cyclist heading from Cairns to Broome and eventually down to Perth to raise funds for the 2024 Noto Earthquake in Japan. The stories we hear, the tips we get, and the people we meet are what truly makes this journey special.

And here’s something funny—no one we met so far had ever heard of sound recording or what we do in general! Over 100 conversations and that’s why we love sharing what we do and bring awareness about the audio industry. Many times people respond with, “I’ll listen more carefully now,” and that always makes us smile. Mission complete.

What’s next?

We’re making our way another 4,400 km across to Perth, where we’ll park the car, fly to Bangkok to edit all the sounds we’ve recorded so far, and then come back when it’s warmer to continue the big lap through Melbourne and Tasmania.

Visiting Tasmania has always been a dream, and if our Prado holds up, we hope to close the loop back at the Sunshine Coast before the main season starts.
